 Rumphi Graduation

Rumphi district is one of the districts in Malawi where Computer Clinic Ltd. was mandated to conduct digital and entrepreneurship skills under the Digital Malawi Project. 88 young people have effectively completed the four-week training program, which is being implemented by the

Public Private Partnership Commission and supported by the World Bank and the Malawi government.

On November 17, 2023, the trainees were awarded with certificates during a colourful graduation ceremony held at the SMD Lodge in the Rumphi district. The project’s primary goal is to support the digital transformation of the economy by giving young people the tools they need to become entrepreneurs and enhance their own lives.

Speaking during the function, Edgar Tembo, the human resources officer of Rumphi district council, who happened to be the guest of honor, thanked the project partners for considering Rumphi youth as beneficiaries of the project.

“Young people nowadays lack skills that could help them become useful citizens in the country. Thanks to the Digital Malawi Project, individuals who were unable to enroll in computer courses due to financial difficulties are now able to do so with the help of this training,” said Tembo.

He went on to exhort the youth to apply their newly acquired skills in a constructive way. He urged people who had received graphic design training to look for possibilities and keep practicing because creativity requires constant improvement.

Rumphi District Youth Officer Ipyana Munthal urged the youth to apply their newly acquired talents to enhance their daily lives. He informed them that in the modern business world, advanced digital and entrepreneurial abilities are essential for success, and they had been schooled in these areas during the course of the four-week project.

Class representatives showcased what they have learned and gave speeches that thanked the project implementers for considering Rumphi.
